5 Ways To Boost Optimism This Week

You know the old saying. Pessimists see the glass half empty, optimists see it half full. That's true as far as it goes, but it assumes a static situation. One that we can't do anything about. Yet, most of the time, that's not how life works. Our days are so full of interactions with each other. And people (unlike glasses) are either getting fuller or emptier in any giving situation. This week, let's not just see the glass half full; let's try to help make sure we are adding to other people's lives. Even the most dogged pessimist may see a glass full when you've undeniably added help to a life that needed it.

  • Wednesday - Tell someone you love that you are proud of them.
  • Thursday - Use a marker to write an uplifting word/drawing on a rock then put the rock back where you found it to be a random encouragement to someone.
  • Friday - Tell a story about someone being awesome. Make sure that person you are talking about is there to hear it.
