5 Ways To Make This Week Great

November 16, 2020

The simple helps this week are based on wise, famous words! Inspirational quotes and real-world acts of kindness are two sides of the same coin. They couldn't look more different, but they are two components of the same thing. Inspirational quotes create a stirring in the heart. They make us want to be better and to do better, too. Real-world acts of kindness -- those moments where we are simply helping someone out -- usually feel more like discipline than inspiration. But it is action that changes the world. Wise words can inspire us with how the world needs us. Simple help can meet that need in ways that actually change the world. Without both sides, after all, a coin isn't worth what it could be.

For the week of November 16 - November 20

Actions: The Simple Helps to remember

  • Monday - Ease someone’s heartache.  “To ease another's heartache is to forget one's own.”   - Abraham Lincoln
  • Tuesday - Give to someone who can’t repay you. “The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.”  - Ann Landers
  • Wednesday - Help someone up. “Every single time you help somebody up, you are helping humanity rise.”  - Steve Maraboli
  • Thursday - Tell someone what gifts and talents you see in them. “The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.”  - Benjamin Disraeli
  • Friday - Do good and make someone’s day. “I cannot do all the good that the world needs. But the world needs all the good that I can do.” ― Jana Stanfield
